The Account Director position is part of the Division of University Communications and Marketing and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing. This position is the lead point of contact with campus clients including Schools, Colleges and Divisions to develop marketing strategies and manage integrated marketing services to support the institution’s goals and the strategic plan of the University. This position is a project leader, liaison between units and works on strategy development, planning, project management and brand integration. This position is the project lead with all members of the UCM creative team (writers/editors, designers, production, video, photography and web and social media professionals), advertising/media agencies and other outside vendors to deliver appropriate marketing services in support of strategic plan goals.

A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field is required. A graduate degree in marketing or a related field is desirable.
At least seven years of progressively responsible work-related experience, including experience in a client service role
Marketing and advertising experience a must
Proven ability to research, plan, manage and analyze complex projects from start to finish
Ability to evaluate marketing challenges and use knowledge and insights in order to develop and implement marketing strategies
Knowledge of marketing approaches including integrated marketing, content and in-bound marketing strategies
Familiarity with developing and launching paid media campaigns, including digital display, social, mobile, SEM, print, OOH, TV, radio
Proven ability to work collaboratively with clients and creative team members on a variety of projects under tight deadlines
Knowledgeable, confident speaker and presenter
Creative, strategic thinker
Organized, detailed oriented
Higher ed experience a plus
Creating campaign strategies for fundraising/development initiatives a plus
