Job Title: Content Marketing Manager Years Experience: 5-7 years Department: Marketing and Communications Position Location: Nationwide Remote or Chicago Reports to: Vice President of Marketing and Communications
The Content Marketing Manager works as a member of ILTA’s Marketing and Communications team and reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. This position collaborates with designers, project management, membership community managers, content coordinators, business development, and external influencers and industry experts to deliver packaged, developed content for use in promotions, website, PR and media pitches, social media and marketing communications, all optimized for measurement and engagement metrics. This position also oversees the delivery of 4 quarterly publications and manages the ILTA member surveys and industry white paper development and publication processes. This position is one part writing, one part project management of content projects and optimization, and a third part fueling marketing programs through thought leadership content across an annual editorial and promotional plan.
Areas of Responsibility
Content Marketing and Publications
Experience in creating, writing, researching, and managing content in multiple formats including multimedia, print, website, social, video and immersive digital experiences.
Must have experience as a content marketer working with a wide variety of thought leadership avenues, including research reports, articles, white papers, newsletters, publications, infographics, website copy, brochures, etc.
Ability to develop a deep understanding of the legal technology industry, membership and partner communities and their business challenges. Experience in legal, technology or relevant industry to identify business drivers and pain points of member/partner personas and plan content calendar aligned to topics addressing their business challenges and forward-thinking initiatives.
Coordinate the annual ILTA editorial calendar and project manage the delivery of 4 annual magazine publications and 3-4 white papers. Project manage all aspects of publications from idea to published content. Deliver content to creative services for layout.
Manage monthly newsletter programs for both membership and partner communities.
Manage ILTA’s social media output and respond to all messaging. Composing tweets, Facebook and LinkedIn posts for ILTA, and cross pollinate outside content to promote ILTA as a thought leader in the legal technology field.
Deliver a weekly blog “But Wait… There’s More” on one to two key topics in the community groups, highlighting ILTA and introductory paragraphs featuring outside content pieces in support of ILTA’s industry thought leadership.
Preserve and develop ILTA’s tone and brand throughout the packaging and distribution of content.
Oversee and coordinate a variety of resources including designers, writers, and research agencies as well as other agency personnel.
Segment our member base by providing them regular, helpful content that’s in-tune with their needs.
Research new digital delivery options for publications and surveys to achieve optimized member engagement and optimal readership
Research and Surveys
Project manage outside firm for ILTA’s annual Tech Survey and Compensation Survey. Assist with editing and publishing of other surveys requested by membership and programming including the marketing technology survey, the Knowledge Management survey and the Litigation Support survey.
Recommend and perform proactive internal surveys as requested by the board and leadership team to help shape and achieve goals of ILTA’s strategic plan.
BA/BS degree. Degree in English, Marketing, Writing or Journalism ideal but not required.
Past experience producing content for the web and print, as well as marketing-specific knowledge (blogs, social, LinkedIn, Twitter, Survey Monkey or equivalent, etc.)
Amazing communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
Great attention to detail and project management skills. This role requires balancing several initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Works with editorial team to ensure content follows editorial governance and is consistent with the ILTA brand voice, style, and tone.
A passion and strong understanding of content marketing and desire to elevate ILTA’s mission
Establish strong working relationships with cross departments, members and other SMEs to fuel the development of timely topics and content.
Ability to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
Understand marketing best practices including email, digital, and social media. Know what content approaches work on each channel and why.
An understanding of SEO, content categorization and structure, and web CMS management.
Content strategy and marketing experience in a B2B environment is preferred.
Knowledge of Salesforce.com, Pardot (or equivalent), social media tools (HootSuite, etc.), Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
