Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting directly to the Vice Chair for External Relations of the Department of Pediatrics as well as the Marketing and Branding ad hoc faculty committee. Manager will work closely with the Children's Board at Columbia and the Associate Vice Dean of Marketing and Strategic Communications ; the Manager will oversee Columbia Children's Health outreach and communications projects by coordinating development, maintenance, dissemination, and enhancement of all content elements and initiatives to ensure timely and consistent delivery of information and services to key audiences. Duties and responsibilities include: -Developing and managing all communications for the department, including the development of a public relations/marketing strategy to gain media attention and build consumer awareness for Columbia Children's Health -Serving as the point person for Columbia Children's Health website design -Developing and implementing a social media plan for Columbia Children's Health -Serving as the project manager for patient and physician marketing outreach efforts -Working with Development staff to create collateral materials for fundraising efforts -Working with departmental faculty to identify news stories for CUMC media relations team -Supporting faculty to maintain and improve faculty profiles; working with patients to write testimonials -Supporting all externally facing written content by managing online content, and help with conceiving creative content including video storyboarding and other visual storytelling methods -Overseeing external graphic designers and web vendors to ensure design needs are met -Performing other tasks as necessary and required
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: -3 years or more of related experience in a communications or editorial/publishing environment. -The successful incumbent will have experience in online content development and dissemination tools and channels (i.e., websites, e-newsletters, multimedia, webinars, social media, etc.). The person should have some familiarity with Content Management Systems editing and Drupal, in particular, as well as other email marketing platforms. Strong writing and editing skills are required for this role, including line-editing experience and the ability to shape and improve content conceptually and repackage material for multiple uses.
