The role of the Marketing Communications Coordinator is to recognize and coordinate all marketing efforts as they relate to the overarching goal of retention of current members and soliciting of new members and then how this in turn relates to the various strategic areas including but not limited to: Education, Best Practices, Advocacy, Research and Measurement, Awards, word of mouth marketing and WOMMA. We are currently seeking a Marketing Communications Coordinator that with excellent creative writing credentials to develop content for a full range of marketing and member materials in print, online and for video. The Marketing Communications Coordinator will develop content including gathering information, researching, writing, editing, proofing and publishing website content, video scripts, marketing and membership collateral, event materials, case studies, newsletters, press releases and other materials. The Marketing Communications Coordinator will manage the development, engagement, and implementation and of the social media strategy. S/he will also be responsible for researching and developing press contacts to increase the visibility of the organization. Objective and Goals - •Support all the marketing efforts of WOMMA
- •Serve as the internal marketing coordinator for all staff, under the direction of the Marketing Director, coordinating and managing marketing projects and output for WOMMA strategic goals.
Major Activities and % of Time: - •Creating, Writing and Delivering Messages and Materials – 60%
- •Developing Messaging Strategies – 20%
- •Research and other duties as assigned – 20%

Core Responsibilities: - •Assist the marketing team with various tasks such as collateral development, member satisfaction analysis, sales programs, product development and service programs.
- •Create and execute creative, email-driven marketing campaigns
- •Create copy upon request to support WOMMA’s messaging for events, emails, scrolling news copy, etc.
- •Develop and maintain website content.
- •Maintain marketing editorial calendar and marketing database. Responsible for managing the Marketing checklist for all of WOMMA’s Educational Events. This includes updating the calendar with new tasks as recommended by staff or making suggestions on how to improve the Marketing calendar.
- •Work with events, membership, and sales staff to coordinate development of collateral including the sponsorship brochure, awards, membership recruitment tools, events, webinars and education programs, etc.
WOMMA Publications: - •Will serve as lead writer and editor of WOMMA’s e-newsletters. (The WOMMA WORD, Brands Digest, and Research Digest.
- •Coordinate the blog calendar for the All Things WOMM Blog
Community Management: - •Measure social media impact, including impressions based on readership and online analytics/statistics
- •Monitor and engage on social media sites
- •Maintain WOMMA’s YouTube account in terms of uploading of content and the sharing of links for use in marketing messages.
- •Support WOMMA’s education webinars by acting as WOMMA staff tweeter.
Media Relations: - •Create and maintain media lists and contact database
- •Write and distribute news releases, fact sheets, bios, e-newsletters, prepared remarks, and media pitches. This includes managing the WOMMA Social Media Press Room.
- •Manage Media Hub and Market Wire accounts
- •Coordinate the WOMMA press release calendar
Skills and Qualifications: - •Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, of Communications.
- •Previous work experience in marketing or related field.
- •Ability to organize and write clear, concise, and compelling copy for multiple publications and marketing channels.
- •Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt various writing styles and guidelines.
- •Proven creative writing credentials
- •Positive and upbeat demeanor, team player mentality.
- •Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- •Excellent Internet communication skills, including knowledge of social media platforms.
- •Attention to detail is critical.
Required Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Marketing or Communications preferred; with a minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications or public relations, preferably in a non-profit environment.
