Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) is seeking a Marketing Assistant for the Marketing and Communications Department. Under the direct supervision of the NJMS Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Assistant assists in marketing and communication projects promoting NJMS and its students, faculty, and staff to the Rutgers community and throughout the state of New Jersey.
Researches trends and marketing strategies that help meet organizational objectives.
Works closely with staff, faculty, and students to design and layout web pages, school viewbooks, brochures and other promotional items.
Collaborates with internal staff members to implement and support media production, applications, and other educational technologies that enhance learning and communications among students, faculty, and staff.
Responsible for maintaining and updating NJMS and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) web site and content.
Works to plan marketing/advertising campaigns and expedite desk top publishing through completion/fulfillment. Assists in producing copy, expediting photography, content, layout and design, advertising venues both print and electronic.
Assists with conceptual development, advertising/marketing and graphics via print and electronically, as it relates to overall school image, providing venues, impressions and costs, and keeping within budget and timelines.
Expedites marketing communications with advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro, GoLive, Acrobat and PowerPoint.
Responsible for utilizing and analyzing web statistics and recommending the appropriate action based on findings.
Keeps abreast of social media trends and is responsible for maintaining and updating NJMS social media accounts (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, etc.).
Home Location Campus: Newark (RBHS)
Photography and videographer skills preferred.
Some work experience in an academic medical center environment preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
