The Senior Director, Marketing and Engagement leads a team of professionals responsible for the full range of WAMU’s marketing, communication, and engagement activities, designed to integrate a range of activities into a consistent, inspiring brand identity that raises the profile, prominence, and value of WAMU regionally and nationally. (S)he ensures that WAMU uses all opportunities – on air, online, social and other digital media, advertising, public events, funder presentations, and internal and external meetings - to tell a compelling story that builds WAMU’s reputation and drives engagement, in the context of American University’s broader narrative. The department oversees council, board, and community relations, volunteers, and interns The Senior Director is the station’s lead liaison to the University’s marketing and communications team. (S)he leads innovative approaches to marketing, engagement, and communication that increase station loyalty and help increase revenue and donor participation. (S)he also serves as one of the station’s primary ambassadors regionally and nationally.
